Oven Cleaning Croydon Service Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Oven Cleaning Croydon provides professional oven cleaning services to customers within Croydon and surrounding areas. By making a booking, you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully before placing an order for any service.
1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions, the following words have the meanings given below:
Customer means any individual, business, landlord, tenant, letting agent, managing agent or organisation that requests or receives services from Oven Cleaning Croydon.
Services means any oven cleaning or related cleaning services supplied by Oven Cleaning Croydon, including but not limited to cleaning of ovens, hobs, extractors, ranges, cookers, and related appliances.
Premises means the property or location at which the services are to be carried out.
Technician means any employee, contractor or representative of Oven Cleaning Croydon who attends the premises to perform the services.
Agreement means the contract between Oven Cleaning Croydon and the customer for the supply of services, comprising these Terms and Conditions and the booking confirmation.
2. Scope of Services
Oven Cleaning Croydon provides specialist oven and appliance cleaning services in domestic and, where agreed, commercial premises within Croydon and nearby districts. The exact scope of services, including the appliances to be cleaned and any additional tasks, will be confirmed at the time of booking.
The services generally include the cleaning of accessible interior and exterior surfaces of the oven and agreed appliances, removable shelves and trays, and, where safe and practicable, removable oven doors and panels. The services do not include repairs, replacement of parts, or alteration of gas or electrical connections.
Oven Cleaning Croydon reserves the right to decline any job that, in the technician's reasonable opinion, cannot be carried out safely, falls outside the usual scope of oven cleaning, or involves appliances that are excessively damaged, unstable or unsafe.
3. Booking Process
Bookings may be requested by customers through the contact methods advertised by Oven Cleaning Croydon. A booking is not confirmed until the customer has received explicit confirmation from Oven Cleaning Croydon, which may be provided verbally or in writing.
At the time of booking, the customer must provide accurate information, including the type and size of appliances, the approximate condition of the oven or appliances, the address of the premises, and any access or parking restrictions. Oven Cleaning Croydon relies on the information provided to estimate the time, resources and price for the services.
Oven Cleaning Croydon may request photographs or additional details of the appliances in order to give a more accurate quotation. Any quotation given based on incomplete or inaccurate information may be revised on the day of service if the actual condition or specification of the appliances is significantly different from that described.
By confirming a booking, the customer confirms that they are either the owner of the premises or appliances, or that they have the authority of the owner or occupier to arrange the services.
4. Prices and Quotations
Prices for services are provided to the customer in advance of the booking, either as a fixed price quotation or an estimated price based on the information supplied. All prices are stated in pounds sterling and include any applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.
Oven Cleaning Croydon reserves the right to adjust prices prior to service where additional work is required beyond the original scope due to the actual condition of the oven or appliances, the presence of excessive grease, carbon build-up or contamination, or where additional appliances or services are requested by the customer.
Where a price adjustment is necessary, the technician will explain the reason for the change before commencing any additional work. If the customer does not agree to the revised price, Oven Cleaning Croydon may cancel the service for that visit without further obligation, other than any applicable call-out or cancellation charge already communicated to the customer.
5. Access, Parking and Customer Obligations
The customer must ensure that the technician has safe, reasonable and uninterrupted access to the premises and to the appliances to be cleaned at the agreed appointment time. The customer must provide adequate lighting, running water and electrical power at the premises.
The customer is responsible for arranging suitable parking for the technician's vehicle, including any necessary permits or visitor parking arrangements. Any parking fees or fines incurred as a direct result of lack of suitable parking information or arrangements may be charged to the customer.
The area around the oven or appliances should be cleared of personal items, cookware and food prior to the technician's arrival to allow safe and efficient working. The customer must advise the technician of any known hazards, defects, or vulnerabilities at the premises, such as fragile surfaces, faulty power sockets, or unstable units.
6. Payments and Invoicing
Unless otherwise agreed in advance, payment for services is due in full on completion of the work at the premises. Oven Cleaning Croydon accepts the payment methods specified at the time of booking, which may include cash, bank transfer, card or other accepted payment options.
For business customers, letting agents or landlords, Oven Cleaning Croydon may, at its discretion, agree to invoice for services with payment due within an agreed number of days from the invoice date. Any such credit arrangements must be confirmed by Oven Cleaning Croydon in advance.
If payment is not received by the due date, Oven Cleaning Croydon reserves the right to charge interest on the overdue amount at the statutory rate permitted under UK law, as well as reasonable costs of recovery. Ownership of any consumables or products supplied as part of the services remains with Oven Cleaning Croydon until paid for in full.
7. Cancellations, Rescheduling and Missed Appointments
The customer may cancel or reschedule a booking by giving notice to Oven Cleaning Croydon. To avoid a cancellation charge, the customer must provide at least 24 hours notice prior to the scheduled appointment time, unless a different notice period has been specifically agreed.
Where less than 24 hours notice is given, Oven Cleaning Croydon may charge a cancellation fee, which may be up to the full quoted price for the booking, to cover allocated time, travel and administrative costs. The exact fee will depend on the nature of the booking and will be communicated to the customer.
If the technician attends the premises at the agreed time and is unable to gain access, or the work cannot be carried out due to circumstances within the customer's control, this may be treated as a late cancellation and the applicable fee may be charged.
Oven Cleaning Croydon reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a booking where necessary due to technician illness, vehicle breakdown, severe weather, safety concerns, or other circumstances beyond its reasonable control. In such cases, Oven Cleaning Croydon will notify the customer as soon as reasonably practicable and offer a new appointment time. No cancellation fee will be payable by the customer in these circumstances.
8. Service Standards and Results
Oven Cleaning Croydon aims to provide services with reasonable care and skill, using appropriate cleaning products and methods suitable for domestic and agreed commercial appliances. The technician will endeavour to achieve the best possible cleaning result given the age, condition and previous use of the appliances.
The customer acknowledges that some staining, discolouration, corrosion, scratches, etching on glass, baked-on deposits or damage may be permanent and cannot be removed by cleaning. Pre-existing damage or wear may become more visible after cleaning. Oven Cleaning Croydon does not guarantee that every mark or deposit will be removed.
If the customer is dissatisfied with any aspect of the service, they should raise this with the technician on the day, or notify Oven Cleaning Croydon as soon as reasonably possible after the visit. Where a genuine issue with the quality of the cleaning is established, Oven Cleaning Croydon may, at its discretion, return to re-clean the affected area or offer a partial refund, subject to the limitations set out in these Terms and Conditions.
9. Customer Property and Appliances
The customer is responsible for ensuring that the appliances are in a generally safe and functional condition before cleaning. The technician will not dismantle or attempt to repair any appliance beyond the usual removal of accessible parts such as racks, trays, and, where safe, oven doors or panels.
Oven Cleaning Croydon is not responsible for any malfunction or failure of an appliance that arises solely from pre-existing faults, age-related wear and tear, poor installation, manufacturer defects, or issues with gas, electrical or ventilation systems. The technician may refuse to work on any appliance that appears unsafe, excessively damaged, improperly installed or unstable.
The customer should remove any detachable items not intended to be cleaned, such as thermometers, decorative items or personal belongings, prior to the start of the service. Oven Cleaning Croydon will take reasonable care when handling property and appliances, but cannot be held liable for damage to items left in or around the oven that should reasonably have been removed by the customer before cleaning.
10. Liability and Limitations
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits Oven Cleaning Croydon's liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under UK law.
Subject to the preceding paragraph, Oven Cleaning Croydon's total liability to the customer for any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with the services, whether in contract, tort including negligence, breach of statutory duty or otherwise, shall not exceed the total price paid or payable by the customer for the specific service visit during which the incident giving rise to the claim occurred.
Oven Cleaning Croydon shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business, loss of use, loss of anticipated savings, or loss of enjoyment, whether arising from delay, cancellation, or the performance or non-performance of the services.
Oven Cleaning Croydon will not be responsible for any damage or deterioration that is the result of pre-existing conditions, inherent defects, structural instability, poor installation, lack of maintenance, or the customer's failure to follow manufacturer instructions or advice given by the technician, including recommended drying or cooling times before use after cleaning.
11. Health, Safety and Environmental Compliance
Oven Cleaning Croydon uses cleaning products and methods selected to be effective for oven cleaning while remaining safe when used correctly. The technician will follow appropriate health and safety procedures and will take reasonable steps to protect surrounding surfaces and areas from splashes or spills.
The customer must keep children, pets and vulnerable persons away from the immediate work area during the cleaning process and while any cleaning products or dismantled parts are present. The customer should not touch or operate the oven or appliances until advised that it is safe to do so.
Used cleaning solutions, residues and waste generated during the services will be handled in accordance with applicable UK waste management and environmental regulations. Where waste needs to be removed from the premises, it will be transported and disposed of responsibly. The customer agrees not to request or permit any disposal methods that would breach waste regulations or local authority requirements.
12. Waste and Disposal
Oven Cleaning Croydon will collect and contain grease, residues, and other waste materials created during the cleaning process. Where possible, these will be removed from the premises by the technician for appropriate disposal.
Any waste that remains on site, such as disposable cloths, packaging or minor debris, will be bagged or otherwise contained for disposal through normal household or commercial waste systems, in line with local authority guidelines.
The customer acknowledges that certain hazardous substances, if any arise during the service, may be subject to specific disposal requirements. In such cases, the technician will follow applicable regulations. The customer agrees to cooperate with any reasonable instructions relating to waste handling or avoidance of contamination.
13. Insurance
Oven Cleaning Croydon maintains appropriate public liability insurance for the services it provides. Details of insurance coverage can be made available to customers upon reasonable request.
Customers are responsible for maintaining their own buildings, contents and appliance insurance as appropriate for their premises. Oven Cleaning Croydon's insurance is not a substitute for appropriate customer insurance coverage.
14. Complaints and Dispute Resolution
Oven Cleaning Croydon aims to resolve any concerns promptly and fairly. If you have a complaint about the services, you should raise it with the technician at the time of the visit where possible, or contact Oven Cleaning Croydon as soon as reasonably practicable thereafter with details of the issue.
Oven Cleaning Croydon may request photographs, further information, or the opportunity to inspect the premises or appliances in order to investigate the complaint. Where a complaint is upheld, Oven Cleaning Croydon may offer a remedy which may include re-cleaning, a partial refund, or another reasonable solution, taking into account the circumstances and the limitations of these Terms and Conditions.
If a dispute cannot be resolved directly, both parties agree to consider using informal negotiation or mediation before commencing formal legal proceedings, where this is practical and appropriate.
15. Privacy and Data Protection
Oven Cleaning Croydon collects and processes personal data such as customer names, addresses, contact details and service information for the purposes of managing bookings, providing services, processing payments and maintaining records.
Customer information will be handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection laws. Personal data will not be sold to third parties. It may be shared with technicians, payment processors or other service providers only to the extent necessary to perform the services, manage accounts or comply with legal obligations.
Customers have rights in relation to their personal data, including the right to access certain information held about them. Any such requests should be made through the usual contact channels for Oven Cleaning Croydon.
16. Changes to Terms and Conditions
Oven Cleaning Croydon may update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in law, business practices or service offerings. The version in force at the time of the customer's booking will apply to that booking.
Updated Terms and Conditions may be made available on request or published through Oven Cleaning Croydon's usual information channels. Continued use of the services after any changes take effect will constitute acceptance of the revised terms.
17. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or with the services, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or their subject matter, save that if the customer is a consumer resident in another part of the United Kingdom, they may also bring proceedings in their local courts.
18. General Provisions
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable by a court or competent authority, that provision shall be severed from the remaining provisions, which shall continue to be valid and enforceable.
No failure or delay by Oven Cleaning Croydon in exercising any right or remedy under these Terms and Conditions shall be construed as a waiver of that right or remedy, nor shall it prevent or restrict any further exercise of that or any other right or remedy.
These Terms and Conditions, together with the booking confirmation, constitute the entire agreement between the customer and Oven Cleaning Croydon in relation to the services and supersede any prior discussions, representations or agreements, whether written or oral.
